Atari 8-Bits at the FireBee
2019-05-01:
"Atari800" is an emulator for Atari 8-Bit Systems like the 400/800, the Atari XL/XE-Series or the 5200. At 13th of April 2019 the version 4.1.0 was released by Miro KropáÄek.
The Emulator for the FireBee works via SDL and the assembler core was excluded in the FireBee version. Beside the fact that this is the first version for the FireBee, the main news in v4.1.0 are that the emulator can now run without providing any ROM images. The so called "Altirra BIOSes" for all of the 8-Bit computers are already included. Just download the package falcon.zip, and use the included ATARI_CF.GTP program to run your 8-Bit-Atari emulator at the FireBee. Like always, the sourcecode is as well obtainable at the github-project page.

This emulator works just fine on my Firebee. I just now have to adjust the sound settings so it comes out like it should be. I also need to connect a joystick of some kind.

Yes it works fine. You just need to lower FPS a bit and it works really well. If you use Atari TT/MSTE keyboard you jut plug in Atari compatible joystick and it works.

Thanks for the info Vido. I do have a TT keyboard that I use on my Firebee, so I will try out an Atari compatible joystick. Just where is the FPS setting in the program settings? I love the full screen feature. Makes things a lot eaiser to see.

I hooked up my TT keyboard and connected a couple of Joysticks to both ports. I tried out Ballblazer and no results. I set the controller config to use the D-pads, so something else must be wrong. The keyboard controlled joystick onfig works just fine though.

Finally got the sound and movement of the graphics to work well. Still have not gotten the real joysticks to work. I will just use the keyboard controls for the joystick for now.
